Organize a Food or Fund Drive
Community food and fund drives provide nutritious food and vital operating funds for Helena Food Share while raising awareness of hunger issues in our community.
A tough economy and high unemployment have pushed demand for emergency food to record levels, making community support more important than ever, and your efforts make a very big difference!
Both Food and Funds Matter
Cash donations keep our freezers running, make sure our trucks are on the road, and support our innovative programs. Monetary donations allow Helena Food Share to purchase bulk food regularly to ensure our clients have access to healthy foods. Our cost per pound of food we purchase is far lower than food purchased at retail prices by individuals.
Food drives provide some of the healthiest and highest-quality food Helena Food Share receives. Food donations provide a link between you as a donor and the customers we serve.
Running a food drive is easy and fun! Here are a few tips to make the process go smoothly…
- Contact our Volunteer Coordinator Jami Kirksey at (406) 443-3663 about setting up a food drive. The Volunteer Coordinator will be able to set your organization or group up with the necessary pieces to succeed.
- Identify a reasonable goal based on how long you’ll run the drive and how many people you expect to participate.
- Please Note: In order to assist the busy Helena Food Share warehouse staff, please let them know if you plan on dropping off large quantities of food. We also have crates and collection signs that may assist with your food drive. The warehouse phone number is (406) 443-3663.
