Nutrition Support fresh from the garden
We believe nutritious food is a building block for healthy communities. Nutrition is a primary focus of all we do at Helena Food Share. We believe our community is healthier when everyone has access to nutritious food. When people have the necessary nutrients to support human health, they have more energy, stronger immune systems, and experience increased overall mental and physical health.
Located next to the Community Food Resource Center along Boulder Ave, the Helena Food Share Garden grows fresh fruits, hers, and vegetables for customers in the Grocery Share Market. It consists of 20 raised beds planted in the spring and cared for by staff with the support of Helena Food Share volunteers and community groups throughout the growing season. Our garden is grown using natural and sustainable practices and provides the market with a regular supply of fresh food, producing over 1,000 lbs annually!

Gardens from around the community: How YOU can help
Our friends at Helena Community Gardens, including the 6th Ward Garden and the Jubilee Garden at St. Mary Catholic Community, regularly donate fresh produce throughout the season for customers and lend their expertise and time to keep the Helena Food Share Garden growing. Thank you!
Growers throughout the Helena Valley contribute produce as well. We invite anyone to “Grow-A-Row” in your garden. Your green thumb can provide healthy, locally grown food for area families. For information about growing a row or volunteering in our garden, email Nutrition Coordinator, Jonathan Hockett, at [email protected].
