Building A Strong Community
Turkey Challenge is more than donating to a good cause; it is a Helena tradition. It’s when our community comes together to look out for one another. During the holidays, food and goodwill flow freely in many homes. Your gift will ensure that everyone has food on their table for the holidays, lightening care, and warming hearts.
The Tradition Continues: fun & food at the Library
Donate your virtual holiday meal above to fund the turkeys and sides for this season. And we are bringing back food collection to the library and local stores so we can connect with one another as a community. You can join the fun by supporting our November Food Drives at local stores and the Lewis & Clark Library in Helena & East Helena. Get your competitive spirit on and challenge friends, classmates, and co-workers. Then, join us for fun activities at the Helena branch on November 18 to celebrate nutrition, community, and the spirit of human kindness.
Please DO NOT bring turkeys to the Library this year. It is more cost-effective for us if you donate funds and let us buy the turkeys. We welcome any canned food items, though. See the list below for helpful options.
Challenge Day Activities at the Library:
- Turkey Challenge Fund Drive: drop off your donation in person and join in the festivities
- Cooking demonstration and holiday food samples at 11:00 and 2:00
- Holiday art projects for the kids from 10:00-5:00
- Holiday Food Drive: bring canned food donations anytime
- When you drop off food at the library on Nov 18, take a selfie with Tom Turkey and post it on social media with #Turkey-Challenge
Holiday Food Collection Items:
The following items are the most helpful items to donate during the November food drives: Canned Pumpkin, Boxed Stuffing, Canned Fruit, Jello/Pudding, Canned Cranberries, Evaporated Milk, Canned Green Beans. Canned Yams/Sweet Potatoes, Canned Broth, and Olives
