The need for food is growing
Visits to Helena Food Share have risen 70 % in the past year. We served our neighbors nearly 3,000 times this August, the highest number of visits in the past three years.
Pandemic support provided additional income to many families in need over the past two years. Increases in SNAP, unemployment benefits, and school meal support also made a significant difference. With most of that support now gone and the cost of food and other essentials continually rising, the need for Helena Food Share programs has grown.
Your gift will ensure no child goes hungry over the weekend, that no parent has to go without food so their children can eat, and that none of our seniors have to decide between buying food, heat, or medicine. And by making it a monthly gift, you will let your neighbors know there is always a place they can count on for food when they need it.
